Marcel Kittel of Project 1t4i wins stage 2 of the 2012 Three Days of De Panne.

The Dutch squad Project 1t4i has found a new title sponsor and will announce the team’s new name on Friday.

According to a release from the team, the former Skil-Shimano squad’s management have secured new backing after a fruitful early season that saw the team win four times, including three victories by top sprinter Marcel Kittel.

The squad will introduce its new uniform Friday and debut the kit on Sunday at the Tour of Flanders.

“We are looking forward to this great day,” said co-manager Sissy van Alebeek. “It is a big day for cycling and of course also for the sponsor and the team.”

The midseason sponsor acquisition is a boon for top-level cycling after squads like Leopard-Trek and HTC-Highroad failed to attract the outside sponsors they needed in recent years. Those teams subsequently merged with a competitor and folded, respectively.

The Project 1t4i team has earned invites to a number of WorldTour events this year, including Paris-Nice and the Tour of Flanders. 1t4i stands for: “team spirit, inspiration, integrity, improvement and innovation.”
