Greipel wins second straight at Luxembourg, Engoulvent leads GC

Greipel will have at least four riders to lead him into the Tour sprints in 2012.

LUXEMBOURG, (AFP) – German André Greipel (Lotto-Belisol), already the winner of Thursday’s stage, won stage 2 of the Tour of Luxembourg Friday.

Jimmy Engoulvent (Saur-Sojasun), who won the prologue on Wednesday, retained the overall leader’s jersey. Grégory Rast (RadioShack-Nissan) and Jonathan Hivert (Saur-Sojasun) are both three seconds back on GC.

A he did on the day before, Greipel took the stage 2 win on the line, outsprinting Briton Ben Swift (Sky) and Belgian Jurgen Roelandts, his Lotto teammate.

The day was punctuated by attacks, including Andreas Kloden’s move with three kilometers to go that was reined in before the finish by the Lotto train.

Saturday’s stage from Eschweiler to Differdange covers 205km.
