Andrew Talansky wins 2012 Tour de l’Ain

LELEX, France (VN) — Andrew Talansky (Garmin-Sharp) won the Tour de l’Ain on Saturday.
Talansky took the overall in the five-stage race by 12 seconds over runner-up Sergio Pardilla Bellon (Movistar). Daniel Navarro Garcia (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) took third at 38 seconds back.
Thibault Pinot (FDJ-BigMat) won the final mountainous stage, a 132.4km leg from Saint Claude to Lelex. Romain Bardet (Ag2r La Mondiale) finished second at 43 seconds with Pierre Rolland (Europcar) leading a 12-man chase group in for third at 1:50.
But Talansky finished safely in that chase to clinch the overall victory.
