Julien Absalon joins the BMC Mountainbike Racing Team on the eve of the Olympics

Less than 24 hours before he is due to line up for the cross-country event in London, the BMC Mountainbike Racing Team announced that they signed the two-time Olympic champion, Julien Absalon.

France’s Olympic champion will join the BMC team for the next two seasons. “For our team, buit in 2011 under the impulse of Andy Rihs, it is a pride to welcome such an athlete and this will allow us to jump up a step in the international hierarchy,” said the team manager David Chassot.

The BMC road team is already a force to be reckoned with, and is pleased with the new mountain bike recruit. CEO of BMC Group, Thomas Binggeli, explains that with Julien Absalon on its roster BMC Mountainbike Racing Team is following the development strategy of the group that supports the world’s best teams.
