In less than a month, Tour of the White Mountain virgins and seasoned race participants alike will converge upon some of the sweetest singletrack that Arizona has to offer. To the surprise of most, there is 100+ miles of trails traversing the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest secretly tucked away in the northeastern part of the state.

On October 6th, Epic Rides has coordinated yet another amazing event to take place in this magical high desert-forest concoction, for the seventh consecutive year. Similar to other Epic Rides events, TOWM will benefit a local cause with a portion of race entry fee being donated to Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center’s program aiding cancer patients in the area. An added bonus to this year’s event is the opportunity for participants to earn a coveted spot in the first corral of the start of the 2013 edition of the Whiskey Off-Road, another Epic Rides event.

This event honors the essence of mountain biking in every way. Upon arriving at packet pickup the night prior, riders will feel a friendly, laid-back vibe as they are light-heartedly educated on the following day’s events and sent off with a schwag bag brimming with radical goodies and a belly full of Blue Banjo BBQ.

Dreamy singletrack aside, it can be expected that after crossing the finish line, one will be greeted with a proper post-race celebration; a camouflage finisher’s patch, another helping of Blue Banjo BBQ to feast upon and plenty of recovery refreshments provided by New Belgium Brewery. It’s no wonder this event continues to draw more participants every year from the reaches of Arizona and beyond.
