The young French powerhouse Julie Bresset added a rainbow jersey to her gold medal this year, after having not won a single World Cup race in 2012.

Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa took silver for Norway and American Georgia Gould added a world championship bronze to her Olympic bronze from London.

“This is a great way for Georgia to finish up her season,” said USA Cycling’s Mountain Bike Program Director, Marc Gullickson. “To be able to back up her bronze medal ride in London with a podium result at the Worlds is proof that she has found her place in the very top tier of women’s mountain bike racing.”

Lea Davison also had an outstanding U.S. ride, coming in eighth.
