Trans Zollernalb won by seconds in both men’s and women’s races

By a narrow margin of two seconds over three days, marathon world champion Christoph Sauser won the Sparkasse Trans Zollernalb stage race.

London Olympic silver medalist, Sabine Spitz won the women’s race.

Sauser, riding for Team Specialized, lost one second off his three-second lead on Topeak-Ergon rider Alban Lakata going into the third stage.

Moritz Milatz of the BMC Racing Team took third, 1:23 back.

Esther Süss of Wheeler Ixs Pro Team lost the sprint against Spitz, riding for Sabine Spitz Haibike Pro Team, in a photo finish. The judges took their time determining that Süss had not passed the winner.

Norwegian Borghild Loevset (Orkla Ck) was third, 3:53 back.
