Voeckler to lead France at world championships

PARIS (AFP) — Thomas Voeckler will lead France’s squad for the men’s road race at this month’s UCI Road World Championships in Valkenburg, Netherlands.

Like he did in the London Olympics, national time trial champion Sylvain Chavanel will contest the TT and road race at the worlds.

In the road race, scheduled for September 23, Voeckler will have with him Europcar teammate Vincent Jerome, as well as Maxime Bouet (Ag2r La Mondiale), Jerome Coppel (Saur-Sojasun), Mickael Delage (FDJ-BigMat), Jeremiah Galland (Saur-Sojasun), Tony Gallopin (RadioShack-Nissan), Vincent Jerome (Europcar) and Arthur Vichot (FDJ-BigMat). Jérémy Roy (FDJ-BigMat) is the team’s alternate and will join Chavanel in the time trial.
