Zach Bell (Spidertech-C10) topped a field of 24 riders in the Challenge Sprint Pro, the kick-off to a weekend of WorldTour one-day races in Québec and Montréal. Bell topped Rémi Pelletier-Roy (Canada), Matthew Goss (Orica-GreenEdge) and Michael Matthews (Rabobank) in the final heat to capture bragging rights in the four-round event.

“You had to push it to the whole in front of tough field. To come here in front of such a great crowd in such a fine setting is just brilliant,” said Bell. “If Challenge Sprint Pro becomes a regular thing, for me it’s obviously a good race.”

Brief results

1. Zach Bell, Spidertech-C10
2. Rémi Pelletier-Roy, Canada
3. Matthew Goss, Orica-GreenEdge
4. Michael Matthews, Rabobank
