LONDON (VN) — Sean Yates and Team Sky have parted ways, according to a British newspaper.

The Telegraph reports that Yates “has left the team with immediate effect” following an interview with general manager David Brailsford, who is purging the squad of anyone with a past connection to doping.

It’s not clear what Yates’ offense may have been, the Telegraph reported. Yates — who wore the yellow jersey for a day during the 1994 Tour de France — rode with Lance Armstrong at Motorola and then coached him at Discovery in 2005 and Astana in 2009.

He joined Sky in 2010.

On Thursday, American Bobby Julich left the team after admitting to doping. Also gone is fellow coach Steven de Jongh, according to the Telegraph.
