USA Crits series adds Glencoe Grand Prix, returns to Vegas finale in 2013

The USA Crits series will make a new stop in Glencoe, Illinois, next season and will return to its old stopping grounds in Las Vegas to close out the 2013 campaign, organizes announced this week.

The 10-race series offers a $50,000 prize purse and the Champion System winner’s jersey. In addition to the newly-added Glencoe Grand Prix, the series will stop off at the 10th anniversary of the Presbyterian Hospital Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the 30th anniversary of the Chris Thater Memorial in Binghamton, New York.

The 2012 edition finished in Vail, Colorado, with Luke Keough (Mountain Khakis-SmartStop) and Erica Allar (RideClean-PatentIt.com) locking down their overall titles with race wins in the final round. The Tour of Vail is not listed in the series’ 2013 schedule.

Each race in the series, which crowns male and female individual and team champions, is also part of the National Criterium Calendar. The seven-year-old series finishes off on September 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
