The new Enduro World Series is set to launch with seven stops in 2013, including a pair of events in North America.

The series will open its inaugural season on May 18 with the SuperEnduro Pro at Punta Ala, Italy, and make stops on July 27-28 at the Colorado Freeride Festival in Winter Park, Colorado, and August 10-11 at the Crankworx in Whistler, British Columbia. The series will wrap up at the SuperEnduro Pro at Finale Ligure, Italy.

Along with the Enduro Mountain Bike Association (EMBA), former UCI technical advisor Chris Ball spearheads the new series after he left his UCI post earlier this year to pursue the emerging discipline.

“Since the series was announced on November 22, we had a really short time frame to pull together the 2013 Enduro World Series calendar. EMBA has worked incredibly hard to produce a calendar that includes the biggest enduro races in the best locations, on the best trails in the world,” said Ball in a press release. “We’re really excited about our 2013 events and we are proud to embrace the Enduro Des Nations event in France, the birthplace of the sport.”
