Omega Pharma-Quick Step riders avoided an encore of the stage 14 attack at July’s Tour de France after a passerby threw tacks on the road in front of the team in Mallorca on Thursday.

A driver reportedly passed and yelled at the riders before throwing the tacks. An Omega Pharma spokesperson confirmed to VeloNews that no one was injured in the incident. The team was riding at a slow pace and no riders suffered equipment damage.

The team is on the Spanish island for its first road camp ahead of the 2013 season. Team director Tom Steels said before the camp that the team had a lot of work ahead of it.

“We’ll be working in three groups,” said Steels. “The first one will be made up of riders who will be going to Australia, who have to perform specific workouts that focus on rhythm more than the others. We will also be working on fine tuning our sprint trains to get back into the swing, and then we’ll be making the most of the situation to spend some time together and work on the time trial with our Specialized bikes. Anyway, overall, we still have basic work to do.”
