Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) moved up a step at the Chicago Cross Cup New Year’s Resolution on Sunday, winning the weekend’s finale after finishing second on Saturday.

With Saturday’s snowstorm departed, Driscoll aced the Bloomingdale, Illinois, course, topping teammate Tim Johnson, who finished second in the final elite race before next weekend’s national championships. Robert Marion (Carpediem Racing) held off a fresh-from-Belgium Jonathan Page to surprise in third.

“The first few minutes I wasn’t looking back. I was just focused on going as hard as I could to get a gap,” said Driscoll. “I can only assume from the way that Tim attacked at the end that he was basically waiting around and being a good teammate.”

Arley Kemmerer (Charm City) won the elite women’s race over Amanda Carey (Volkswagen Boise). Emily Shields (Mock Orange Bikes) was third.
