Demare wins stage 1 at Four Days of Dunkirk

DUNKERQUE, France (AFP) — Arnaud Demare (FDJ) won the first stage of the 59th Quatre Jours de Dunkerque (Four Days of Dunkirk) in Courrières, France, on Wednesday. The Frenchman topped Ramon Sinkeldam (Argos-Shimano) and Kenny Van Hummel (Vacansoleil-DCM) at the end of the 155-kilometer opener.

The Four Days of Dunkirk continues Thursday with the 178km second stage from Lewarde to Douchy-les-Mines.
