Joey Rosskopf (Hincapie Sportswear Development) rode to victory in the stage 4 time trial at the Tour de Beauce on Friday.

Rosskopf finished the 20-kilometer course in 26:30, which was the same time as runner-up Nathan Brown (Bontrager). Placing third, one second slower, was Benjamin Day (UnitedHealthcare).

Francisco Mancebo (5-Hour Energy), who took the overall race lead in Thursday’s stage 3, retained the leader’s jersey and now has a two-second advantage over Matthew Cook (Century Road Club Association) and a three-second buffer over Brown.

“I went a little bit harder on the first half knowing there were some downhill in the second half,” Rosskopf in a press release. “I am really surprised. I was hoping for a top 10. I didn’t expect to win. I didn’t know what time would be good. The only thing I knew was the leader’s time before I started.”

The six-day race through Quebec ends Sunday in St. Georges.
