The Quintana’s are taking over the peloton.

In the wake of Nairo Quintana’s breakout performance at the Tour de France in which he won the white and polka-dot jerseys en route to a second-place overall finish, his younger brother Dayer will join him on Movistar for the 2014 season.

Dayer Quintana, 21, rode for amateur team Lizarte this season and recorded more than 20 top-10 results. Before that, he served with Colombia’s national police force for a year and a half and had to hang up his cycling shoes in 2011 before returning in the summer of 2012.

The youngster will join his new teammates at a meeting outside of Pamplona, Spain next week.

It’s unclear what type of role the younger Quintana will play next season, but his older brother is expected to lead Movistar at the Tour de France as he searches for his first grand tour victory.
