Carmen Small (DNA Cycling) and Nicolai Brochner (Bissell Development) took stage 2 wins at the Silver City Tour of the Gila Thursday at Fort Bayard, New Mexico.
Small, who is on a guest-riding assignment from Specialized-lululemon, beat the Tibco-To the Top duo of Joanne Kiesanowski and Lauren Stephens in the women’s 75-mile Inner Loop Road Race. Small won the sprint out of a group of roughly 20 riders.
Brochner took the victory in the men’s 76-mile race ahead of Eric Young (Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies) and Travis McCabe (SmartStop).
The Tour of the Gila continues Friday with the stage 3 Dan Potts Memorial Tyrone Time Trial, a 16.15-mile individual time trial.
