Dylan Groenewegen of LottoNL – Jumbo sprinted to victory in stage 1 of the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen (Three Days of West Flanders) Saturday to make it back-to-back wins for 22-year-olds at the race.

BMC neo-pro Tom Bohli, winner of the prologue, finished safely in the peloton to maintain his overall race lead.

The 173.5-kilometer stage from Bruges to Harelbeke included a visit to the Oude Kwaremont, a key Tour of Flanders climb, but a flat final 50km set up a sprint showdown for the stage win.

Groenewegen emerged victorious over Tosh Van der Sande (Lotto – Soudal) and Baptiste Planckaert (Wallonie – Bruxelles) in the high-speed finale. The win is the second so far this season for the Dutchman.

The race concludes Sunday with a 182.7km stage 2, where the peloton will face cobblestones and a few short but challenging climbs along the way from Nieuwpoort to Ichtegem
