I find it funny that McQuack thinks that as the sport cleans up and becomes less attached to it’s doping past, the sponsor dollars will flow in. Following that reasoning, HTC should not have had a problem securing a sponsor right?

C’mon Joey, I’ve been to the Republic of Boulder a couple of times and its pretty refreshing to be in a bike-centric city. The area has been home to a multitude of racers for decades and has earned its reputation for bike tolerance and respect. DirtRag is Pennsylvania and East Coast-centric cuz thats where Maurice and crew live, Mountain Bike Action–especially under Zap’s control oozed SoCal to its core. It may seem tedious and malodorous at times but there is a lot going on in Boulder bike-wise–and Lennard, Nick, Caley, etc. should be proud of Boulder.

With regards to the talon seat post. I have built two airfoils with the same post. I initially had this issue. Using carbon paste helps but the what I actually found was that is I pushed the seatpost forward and tightened it as I held it forward I no longer had the slipping issue. The design of this system is the weak link on this bike.

I initially tried shimming with inconsistent results.

what a tool, he used to me one of my favorites, but this boneheaded PR stance, this kind of haughty “i’m above talking to reporters about blood bags” talk while he claims to have done nothing wrong is just idiotic. what we need now is for one of his own in the peloton to call him out. that’s my challenge as a rabid fan to any of you pro riders out there that claim to care about doping…. wouldn’t it be cool (and help the image of the sport too!) if levi or van de velde or gilbert or even the brash cavendish had the stones to cross the line and call out the fool that claims he did no wrong after serving a fair and deserved suspension.

Years ago for Mt. Washington I installed a MTB crankset on my road bike and only left the 24t granny gear on. I ran a 13×21 9s cassette and the tight ratio cassette made it easy to keep cadence up and not experience large jumps when shifting.

For Mt. Washington years ago I ran a 24t Chainring off a MTB crank with 13×21 9s cassette. Almost 1×1 but each shift was essentially one cog/tooth larger. Each shift was slightly easier and facilitated more shifting to keep cadence up.

Valve was proven guilty by everyones standard except those that would turn a blind eye. Namely the Spanish and his team. I do agree that he served his time and deserves no worse treatment than Baso. I never bought the I planned to dope bullSh_t. It would be like training on water for a full season and then switching to some unknown sports drink for your biggest ride of the year, having never tried it before. The main point I think is hinting is that he is angry for having been suspended and Contador has not. As for the delay on both suspensions, they have no one to blame but themselves and Spanish cycling. If Spain had suspended both like any other country would have they would both been bakc racing in only two years.

The problem with Team Time Trials is they always have to be held early in a stage race before the teams have lost too many riders to illness or crashes. Levi and other pros that used to be able to show up to this race with just a 1 or 2 teammates will find this is no longer viable. Will be interesting to see if the ProTeam guys just skip this race.

Hi Peter,

TDF has not dropped the TTT outright. The TTT is not done every year though. A TTT in ToU will be interesting. GC selection is going to come down to Utah’s L’Alpe stage (Snowbird) more, and the KOM will be selected more-or-less by the Ogden-SLC stage, which I’m guessing will feature Big Mountain summit mid-stage and perhaps another climb before then, but that’s just a guess… I’ll miss the downtown SLC circuit race from last year though…
